Our domain name prices will be increasing from 1 September 2020.
Our price changes are due to external factors. InternetNZ, the registry for .nz domain names and the operator of the .nz domain name space, has confirmed that it is raising the wholesale cost of domain names from 1 September 2020. There are also increased operating costs in the industry.
In late March we advised you that Internet NZ was raising its prices on 15 April 2020. In early April we wrote to you again to let you know that InternetNZ had deferred the increase to 1 September 2020 due to the unprecedented situation with Covid-19.
While some companies in the industry raised their prices in April, we decided to wait until 1 September 2020 to give you the best value we could.
Renew your domain(s) for multiple years with us before 31 August 2020 and pay at existing prices.
Email us at support@threepoint.nz by 31 August 2020 to take advantage of our offer. Please let us know which domains you would like renewed and for how many years and we will issue you an invoice for payment. All payments must be cleared before 31 August 2020.
According to the NZ Domain Name Commission, the current average market price for an annual .nz domain name is between $41 and $45, NZ dollars.
This is our first price increase in three years, and we want to continue to offer domains at a price significantly less than the market average.
Our new annual domain name prices are in the table below. Prices are all in NZ dollars and are exclusive of GST. These prices will take effect on 1 September 2020.
